ABOUT JWB-SL
About Us
Advancing Human Rights, Social Justice & Economic Empowerment.
WHO WE ARE
Founded on lived experience. Built on principle.
Justice Without Borders (JWB) is a national human rights and social justice organization committed to protecting dignity, advancing freedoms, and empowering vulnerable communities across Sierra Leone. Founded on the belief that justice must not be limited by geography, politics, or social status, JWB works to ensure that every individual — regardless of background — can live with safety, dignity, and opportunity.
Our mission is shaped by lived experience. Our Founder and Executive Director, Sahr Kondokwi, survived torture and severe human rights abuses during the Sierra Leone civil war (1991–2002) for defending and protecting others. His journey from survivor to advocate inspired the creation of JWB and the principle that guides our work: Justice has no borders — and every person deserves its protection.
OUR MISSION

LEADERSHIP & GOVERNANCE
A leader shaped by survival, service, and scholarship.
Sahr E. Kondokwi is the Founder and Executive Director of Justice Without Borders — Sierra Leone (JWB-SL). A human rights advocate and survivor of the Sierra Leone civil war, his lived experience fuels his lifelong commitment to justice, dignity, and social equity. During the 1991–2002 conflict, he endured torture and severe human rights abuses for defending and protecting others a defining chapter that shaped his belief that justice is a universal right that must never be limited by geography, politics, or social status.
After resettling in the United States, Sahr deepened this conviction: justice must follow every human being, everywhere. This principle became the foundation of Justice Without Borders.
Sahr holds advanced degrees in International Relations and Global Security, Business Administration (MBA), Project Management (MPM), and Construction Management (BSc). His leadership blends lived experience with academic rigor and over a decade of experience in governance, infrastructure oversight, procurement management, and development programming.
